Hewitt Area Fire Department
The Hewitt Area Volunteer Fire Department is made up solely of volunteers and is led by a Command Staff of seven officers: a chief, an assistant chief, two captains, two lieutenants, and an EMS coordinator. The chief is recommended by the members of the department to the Hewitt Area Fire Commission. The Commission then appoints the chief. The assistant chief, captains, lieutenants, and EMS coordinator are elected by the members of the department.
The fire department has mutual aid agreements with the City of Marshfield, Village of Auburndale, Township of Richfield, Township of Cameron, Township of Rock, Township of Lincoln, and Township of McMillan. These other entities can be called upon to help our fire department or our fire department can be called upon to help them.
